There is always a pressure of historical facts. Google started as a search engine. That is history now... Intrigued? I remember the Internet before Google. What a mess! While several search engines were around (remember AltaVista, HotBot? Yahoo is still kicking), you always felt as a dumpster diver while trying to find what you needed. Smaller search engines popped up here and there; I've made a list at that time, which is still online, for the sake of Digital Heritage Preservation Idea.
